I posted this page a while back with really poor quality photo and poor quality blog. I’m using it as my background on by blog and in other areas on the web and have been asked what it is. So it is back with better pictures and a better description of how it was made.
The left and right sides have slightly different colors because it is the first page of my art journal. The left side base is chipboard and the right side base is paper. I used different techniques on each side, using the same color scheme.
This started with an old McCall’s pattern glued down for texture. It was then white washed with watered down Gesso to put the white in the cracks of the tissue paper. I then used a stencil and sprayed ink on top (the diamonds), dried and then rubbed paint on top. I used a palette knife for the black paint.
The right side started out with Gesso. I glued down paper tiles which are just one inch squares punched out of cardstock and then painted on top and used a stencil to spray ink. I used a toilet paper roll for the circles and a palette knife for the black paint again. The entire page is highlighted with Rub’nBuff too (mostly on the tiles). The words are stamped – to finish it off.
