Gypsy Summer

I have decided to start scrapbooking again.  I have only created a couple of pages the last two years.  Well, here is my third.  It is all thanks to Scraps of Darkness.  I love kit clubs for the connections that are made and I like the idea of supporting a small business.  Each month there is a sketch challenge where they offer up a basic layout and you make your own interpretation.

Of course those of you that scrapbook will notice right away that I am breaking some scrapbooking rules.  First – I don’t have a title, second – I don’t have any journaling and probably worst of all:  I have no idea who the ladies in the pictures are.  I love them though!  The paper is mostly Graphics 45 I think I have one piece of My Minds Eye in there somewhere.  I used some distress stains and paints.

The flowers are Prima.  I painted them with some Gesso and Golden iridescence.

I’m going back to journaling soon.  So if this is to mainstream for your taste – stay tuned. TFL!!

Hi Sam! You did such great work with the kit and I’m so glad you are a subscriber now woot woot! I’m just about to open mine and play. Nice hand with the gesso on your blooms. I love how you narrated this post – lol you have no idea who those women are. I actually just finished a video using the June kit and in part of it I talked about often feeling obligated to put text/sentiments, and not wanting to. You go, girl. Let’s take layouts from mainstream to avante garde!

  2. Love your layout. Done stop making them. Love how you used the gesso.
