I was playing with the people over at Our Creative Corner a little while back and was honored to win the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! If you pop over to visit today, you will see that I am featured in the coveted Winners Corner. The good folks over at Our Creative Corner have asked that I do a little of my own creating to showcase along with the interview. I love boxes. Especially cigar boxes. They are the perfect size to store all sorts of goodies. I’ve had my alcohol inks stored in this cigar box for a while now. I think it is time for a face lift. I started by rounding up some of my favorite scrapbook paper from my stash and adhered it to both the outside and the inside.I added some dimension and color to the paper using modeling paste, stencils, inks, chalks and stamps. Then the fun started! Embellishments!! Most of my embellishments were painted to match my color scheme. The Head of Leda by Leonardo da Vinci is one of my all time favorite images. I stamped this image into Clayboard a few years ago and have had it sitting on my table looking at me all this time waiting patiently for the right project to be added to. This turned out to be the project that she finally lay claim to. I did not start this project with her in mind. I was actually sitting and trying to decide if the top was done when she called my name and I realized the open space on the top, was just her size. She nestled right in quite nicely. The sides were left free of adornment due to the placement of the box among all my other boxes, but I did label the front. This little gem was made with Paperclay, a mold and paint. The feather has at least three coats of various colored paints on it.Here is the final product.
One final note about my upcoming posts. As some of you know, I have an alternate personality. That personality becomes very demanding during this time of the year and therefore I will not be able to spend as much time creating and sharing as I would like. I will pop in as much as possible, but it will not be as frequent. As always – if you have any questions don’t hesitate to leave me a comment!
